Does increased school violence and increased drugging of children relate?

School shootouts have now come to Europe, this morning a man attacked a schoold in Germany. It turned out he was a pupil of that school. Over the past 10 years there has been an increase in school violence which is coincident with the increased drugging of kids in school. Meanwhile the education standards are going down.
I really wonder if these are connected.

That's an interesting theory, I wonder if the students that are commiting the violent acts are taking any medications or drugs. I've always viewed the increase in school violence as a result of the the acceptance and glorification of violence in today's society. When you look at the things that children watch and are exposed to in the media now as opposed to say 30 years ago, it's totally different. Children are growing up watching violence 24/7 and being taught that it is not only normal, but also something to be admired. Considering this, it doesn't surprise me that kids are resorting to these extreme acts of violence to seek retribution at school.

What do you mean drugging. Most of the school violence is done by the kids, bullying being the worst. Tormenting, making fun of, and ostracising kids comes a close second. Kids can be very cruel either deliberately or unintentionally. If all kids would treat others the way they would like to be treated we would not have any problem at all.

if you mean legal prescription drugs, then the reason for the violence can also be attributed to the lack of drugs. drugs is the last resort for a doctor to prescribe to a young person, but with so many illiness, and disorders in our society, sometimes drugs is the only answer.
