What do men think about violence from men towards a women?

I had to rush over to my friends house because people were threating a young women and her child, there were four guys and one women, and I just had to fend them off of her, they then proceded to threaten me, but I can handle my own, but what I want to know is isn't that considered cowardice when the big threaten the small? Why do guys get so drunk and proceed to want to fight anyone included a women, what is it inside them that makes them feel good about doing that?

Men hitting women, or abusing them in any way is wrong. If a man wants to fight he should go find another man. It is cowardice. The disclaimer is freakin awesome!

Your first mistake is calling them "men". They are not. They are cowardly bullies who haven't the courage to face a real man, so they pick on someone they consider weaker. Save your next trip to the bathroom and throw it in their weak faces.

rayk has it right. Anyone who'd do such a thing isn't a man. There is no excuse for attacking someone in such a way. God forbid I ever catch a guy doing that, I'd give him a life altering event.

wow! sorry that you had to go through that! even sorrier for the woman and her child!!! men who are like that are not men at all. they are a lower life form, even lower than a dead maggot infested opposum on the side of the road. that is a visual for ya isn't it! I hope that the police were called, or at least that you beat the hell out of them. they obviously have such a large quantity of insecurities that they feel the need to prove their "manliness" to anyone, even by threatening a woman who had nothing to do with them. it is sad. :(

Any man who would raise his hands to a woman is not a man, but a shell of one...or a poor excuse. Take your pick. Growing up, my father never spanked us, just the sound of his voice or my Mother asking, "Do I need to get your father?" was enough for us....but, one day, in a moment of sibling rivalry, my brother hit me...when my father got home, my father gave him the beating of his life and he said to my brother, "That will teach you to never lay hands on a woman!" That was the only time my brother was ever spanked or disciplined. Somehow, men have lost their honor and their value for women. Abuse is nothing new, it's just more prevalent now than ever. Women need to value themselves more and not put up with this garbage. Throughout Biblical Scripture, you can see plenty of examples of how women were treated with value and had great influence in their homes, in their marriage and their counsel was sought by great men!....this is the way the Lord intended. We are daughters of the King of Kings-we need to hold our heads up high and own it!...ladies, value yourselves and deem yourselves worthy...the men will follow suit-if not, they're not worthy of you!

Men should be taught as I, a young shark, to respect and honor all women. To hurt a woman no matter the situation, within reason, is to shame your father and those who love you. I would like to have five minutes alone...

I have never been in a situation like that. the thought process that must have been going through their mind boggles me.. let alone the sheer terror in hers for her child. The fact that you rushed over and your first instinct was to protect your friend speaks a lot about you.
The insecurities that they must feel..I don't care if there mom didn't say I love you enough, or they didn't have the coolest sneakers at 12.. or their dad was as much of an ****.. we think other cultures are behind us when we really need to checkety check our selves before we wreck our selves (how many times can a guy use that phrase any more!)
