Why do my dreams always consist of violence?

First off let me break down a few events lately.
In April I had a Grandmaul Seizure and then had another on June 6th. Everytime I have a seizure my dreams become VERY vivid and I can remember them step by step. The problem with these dreams is that they are ALWAYS violent, such as me having battles like medival area ones or me going to a place and being ambushed, or even me just fighting with people. In the dreams they are always dark places, like wooded areas or broken down towns and the sun is never out in them.
What I want to know is if someone can decifer them possibly giving me an general idea of what they possibly mean? I know that dreams have a meaning from your conscience about what your feeling. I need to go find a dream book somewhere and figure it out. But in the meantime, anyone have an idea here?

To be in or see a battle in your dream, suggests that you are overworked. You need to give yourself a break. There is a conflict between your rational thinking and your irrational impulses. Alternatively, it represents eroticism. You may be overly stimulated or you are trying to suppress your instinctual urges.

To dream that you are attacked from ambush, forewarns of a danger lurking near you. Your situation has taken an unanticipated turn for the worse or that you have been prevented or blocked in reaching your goals or destination.

To dream that you are lying in ambush, signifies that you will ruthlessly work to defraud your own friends.

To have a dream that takes place at night, represents some major setbacks and obstacles in achieving your goals. There are some issues in your life that you are facing that are not too clear. You should put the issues aside so you can clear your head before coming back to it.

To dream that you are in or walking through the forest, signifies a transitional phase. You may be following your instincts.

To dream that you are lost in a forest, signifies that you are searching through your unconscious for a better understanding of yourself.

To see the woods in your dream, represents life, fertility, rejuvenation, and spring. Alternatively, it symbolizes the unknown and unconscious. You may be discovering your instinctual nature.

To dream that you are walking through the woods, signifies your return to an aspect of yourself that is innocent and spiritual.

To dream that you are lost in the woods, indicates that you are starting a new phase in your life. You are expressing some anxiety about leaving behind the familiar and what you know.

To see dried up, dying woods in your dream, suggests that there is a situation in your life that has not yet been resolved. You may also be overwhelmed with a problem or issue.

To dream that you participate in a fight, indicates inner turmoil. Some aspect of yourself is in conflict with another aspect of yourself. Perhaps an unresolved or unacknowledged part is fighting for its right to be heard. It may also parallel a fight or struggle that you are going through in your waking life.

To see others fighting in your dream, suggests that you are unwilling to acknowledge your own problems and turmoil. You are not taking any responsibility or initiative in trying to resolve issues in your waking life.

To dream that you are fighting to the death, indicates that you are unwilling to acknowledge a waking conflict or your own inner turmoil. You are unwilling and refusing to change your old attitudes and habits.

maybe your life is too peaceful

before you go to bed don't think about violent things. your dreams always consist of bad things because before you go to sleep you think about violent things so before you lay down try and watch some happy things or think about happy memories.

Two possibilites here:

1) The shortcircuits in your brain (the usual cause of grandmal seizures) may be affecting your sleep brain waves. See your doctor about that, maybe an adjustment in medication will help.

2) Violence in dreams (especially when you're losing the fights), tend to indicate frustration. Is there something you want to change in your life but feel powerless to do anything about? Analyze yourself & find a way around it. If it's something unavoidable, like a family member you can't stand, or a nasty job you cant quit right away, try changing your attitude a little. See bad times with humor while you must endure them & do your best to remove yourself from the situation.

Good luck.

You should meditate.
This will help you clear your mind from all of the thoughts that create your violent dreams.
Good luck.

All the books about the meaning of dreams were written by people. So I'll tell you what I think. I believe our dreams show many things about us that we try to hide from other people, either consciously or unconsciously. Maybe you are a violent person and that violence has to be expressed even if it's only in your dreams. It's the healthy way your body has found to help you get rid of the need to get violent in your daily life. The places or everything you see in your dreams must have something to do with some influence that things that you read or saw in the past, or that you imagined when you were a kid had on your personality. That's what I think.

Sirach 10 19-30 dreams can mean many things,if they are not from God then they are a reflection of yourself like a face in a mirror,if they are from God they could have many purposes such as to warn of danger,to teach you of the ways of God and aquaint you with His works,to show you some chosen ones,to reveal other peoples shame when they are being hypocrytical toward you they are hard to understand i seem a little spoiled myself when i ask for the meaning of something i have a dream pertaining to what i asked, some might say that i make up the dream myself through imagination but whatever,i consider it a personal experience anyway,i've actually had a dream where i could feel in my dream as if my spirit had nerve endings or something like that,it was awesome. And as for you going home i would almost venture to say that you are delivered from your judge forever, have a nice day :)

I would say it would symbolize unresolved problems but you have to understand that night terrors can cause these kinds of dreams and those are caused by not being able to go through all of the sleep cycles properly and may have nothing to do with whats going on in your life. You should try to see if your doctor can get you to go to a sleep clinic so they can make sure.

Don't bother with finding out what dreams mean. Having taken classes in physiology, I remember learning that dreams are sort of "sparks" of thoughts or occurrances or things we have seen throughout our lives. 95% of the time they don't mean anything. Dreaming is the way that our brain "cleans" itself out at night. Cleans is really not the right word, but I can't think of how to put it.

I used to have nightmares every day/night of my life....until I found out that I had a Vitamin B6 and Zinc deficiency. The day I started taking large doses (250 mg. B6, 50 mg P-5-P and 50-60 mg of zinc), the nightmares stopped. I still have dreams and they are vivid, but they aren't violent.

She talks about a lot more than just depression in her book.

you probably have a sleep disorder. i have narcolepsy and have the same exact problem. go to your family doctor and tell them what is happening and they will give you an overnight sleep study this should help. it did for me. now i sleep like a baby with the meds that they gave me. you can also try melatonin that works really well.
