What type of mental illness is associated with blackouts and violence?

Also, what effects can the use of the drug, Crack Cocaine, have in conjunction with this?

I have a friend who claims that they are diagnosed with A.D.H.D and using the drug, Seroquel. However, I am aware that Seroquel is not generally used in treating this disorder. He also claims to suffer from blackouts, causing violent outburts, which I am also aware do not accompany a.d.h.d. He was an avid Crack Cocaine user, which would certainly contribute to his violence, however, the Seroquel and A.D.H.D do not exactly fit into that situation.

I have blackouts in which I lose time, with my dissociative disorder, and violence towards myself. There are a lot of illnesses that would cause this.

Using illegal drugs can sometimes trigger mental illnesses to appear. I have a friend who started having depression and psychotic episodes after using marijuana and dropping acid.

If you're concerned about yourself, check with a mental health professional - they are required to keep drug usage confidential.

seek professional help immediately

alcoholism, certainly is. irregardless of the amount, do not let your friend drink. even if they arent alcoholic (unlikely-they sound very addictive) it wont help. medical intervention is essential, possibly a different medication.

don't know

Substance Abuse, PTSD, Schizophrenia

Substance Abuse = Violent, erratic behavior and over the long term can cause blackouts
