Vertigo????

ok, so i have been on lexapro 20mg for well over a year... well this was prescribed by doctor #1.. well doctor #2 wants me off lexapro and on wellbutrin xl 150. the thing is i CAN NOT quit taking my lexapro, the withdrawl is simply too much for me to handle.

does anyone know if vertigo is a side effect of withdrawing from an anti-anxiety such as lexapro? i have looked all over the internet and can't find much info.

Lexapro is an anti-depressant..check out this web site: http://www.theroadback.org. It might answer a lot of your questions about lexapro and wellbutrin..I took lexapro for a year and I had withdrawals...I would listen to doctor#2...take care...

i dont know but u might have hypertension

I didn't have trouble getting off the lexapro, but I did go down to the 10mg for awhile. They started the wellbutrin 150 while I was cutting down on the lexapro. It really didn't have many side affects to begin with. Go for the switch. The wellbutrin was way better.

You shouldn't have withdrawal going directly to another like welbutrin. Just call the Dr. office and ask the nurse and problem solved. I have been from one to another for 2 years and never experienced withdrawals.===

I've tried a bunch of different meds. Celexa (cousin of Lexapro) made me dizzy upon attempting to go on it- so, sure, I would say dizziness upon going off is a likely possibility. Dizziness is a side effect of all those meds- look on the package inserts.

I'm on nothing now- and okay with that:)
