Getting over vertigo, but still have bad spells?

I was diagnosed with vertigo 5 weeks ago (seeing a doctor weekly). When I went it, it was severe. I could barely stand, sit up, or walk. I was vomiting and unable to keep anything down. I was put on Promethezine and told to wait it out. Later, they added Antivert. After 4 weeks, they took the Promethezine away and left me on the Antivert.

I've gotten better. I'm eating solid foods, I'm working, I'm able to function most of the time. There are even hours without symptoms!

But the last few days, I go from feeling GREAT to having a sudden sharp pain in my ears and a an extremely loud rining (so loud, I don't feel I can hear anything else). This lasts for anywhere from 1-10 minutes and then leaves. The pain sometimes continues, but the ringing stops.

I'm also still struggling with the nausea (either just at night, or sometimes ALL DAY!).

Is this typical for vertigo? Should I be getting concerned? Could this be something other than vertigo?

I would recommend that you have a tomography of your central ear performed. According to the result, your ORL can take it from there.
