Vertigo advice.?

My g/f (16) went on V.K. and I got an email from her, saying "Hey! I will miss you, I have vertgo. I will explain later, but that explains why i was dizzy wen i stood up. But the WYFY connect session ends in 5 so i gtg, I will explain later! LUV U SOO MUCH!,

Question: Wats vertigo? Wat happens wen u have vertigo? Wat shud I know bout it? I want to know wat to expect for wen Laura gets home, andI will get advice from her, but any advice for now wud help. And how do I help her, and wat not? Let me know,

Vertigo takes several forms but all characterized by dizziness. The most common is called benign positional vertigo. The person gets dizzy when looking up or when turning the head suddenly. Laying down in bed can result in what drunks call "bed spins." It is caused by displacement of certain crystalin substances in the ear. Fortunately, the best treatment is free and simple. I had to see my physician for something prescribed to overcome it. Any fast movement can trigger it and it is no fun feeling.

i don't know the actual definition of the word. but it is basically dizziness. it could be caused by an inner ear infection, or in my case, low blood pressure. something was said about getting dizzy when standing up too fast, that's what happens 2 me!

My grandmother had vertigo. Its a condition that causes nausea, dizziness, sometimes vomitting and severe motion sickness. I believe it is cause by an imbalancing of fluids in the inner ear called the equilibrium. Its not life threating it just means that she should avoid or use caution with boats and rollercoasters. I had vertigo at least three times in my life. For me, vertigo comes on as a result of a combination of a mild sinus infection, stress, and anxiety. The emergency room doctor treated me with valium after examining my ear and nose and not seeing anything. However, always have a ear, nose, and throat specialist look you over. The doctor also prescribed an anti-nauseant, but I can't recall the name of the medication. Since I've eliminated the stress, I have ceased to have vertigo.

It may take a couple of days up to a week. Many times a drug called Meclazine is given. It alleviates the symptoms for an hour, but then causes extreme drowsiness until time for the next dose. The attacks come and go and generally subside over time. She should be thoroughly evaluated by an Ear, Nose and Throat doctor who can run test to learn the cause of her vertigo.
