I have vertigo, and last night shooting pain in my right ear?

I had vertigo around 6 months ago! Every since then,I get bouts of it every once in awile. Six months ago when I had it, the walls and the things around me were spinning. This time that only happened once, and it's more like I am the one moving.

Now last night I had shooting pain in my right ear. Is that part of the vertigo, or something else?

Iv'e told my doctor about the vertigo, and all she says, is that there's nothing you can do for it, and no medications, except over the counter motion sickness pills, which of course probably would make me drowsy!

My good friend has something called Menier's disease, which causes her to feel dizzy a lot, and have some pain and other things happening with her ears. It sort of comes and goes. Doctors think it may have something to do with fluid in the inner ears, and eating an extremely low salt diet seems to help her have fewer attacks. Finding an expert in ear issues would be the best thing to do.

You may have an ear infection

do you have an underlying infection in your ear?
Do you have a family history of Menier's disease???

Often vertigo is caused by inner ear problems, but it can have other causes as well. Please get it checked promptly. The pain could have been an Ice pick Headache. I get these and vertigo at times. I also have hypoglycemia and hyper coagulation in my blood. from auto immune disease.(antiphospholipid syndrome)
Best wishes

There definatly is something going on with your ears, it could be sinus related, or just ear related, I would go back to the doctors and tell them what is going on.

Please see the web pages for more details on Labyrinthitis.
Labyrinthitis can be caused by viral infections, bacterial infections, physical blockage of the inner ear, or due to decompression sickness.
Consult ENT specialist.
