Experiencing Vertigo when doing Yoga?

Hi all,
I JUST started Yoga today for the first time...I decided to try it to ease back into an exercise routine, to improve my posture and ease some stress...

The only thing is is that I started getting really dizzy...vertigo-like symptoms when I was nearly done. I'm thinking it may have something to do with all the breatheing I was doing, all of the new blood circulation and the exercise itself.

Is this normal? Have you had experiences with it? If it continues, I may go to the doctor to check it out....but I just wanted to post the question out there.

Thanks!!

Congratulations on the start of your practice! No, it isn't normal to have that kind of experience but it could have happened for a number of reasons. It's happened to me when I went to yoga and had skipped breakfast(even though it should be done on an empty stomach). If it happens again it would probably be a good idea to see your doctor. At least you are aware of it now. Don't stop yoga though, you will love it and find many benefits! Namaste

Dear
No need for going to a Doctor
For few days it will be like that then it becomes normal
But donot over do Yoga maintain timings do not over strech

never got that while doing yoga.

i do have a history of vertigo though.

i had prescription meds that i got from my doctor when it got really bad. don't know the name. haven't used it in a while.

How low . . . . how low? You're at a place called vertigo. .
Something else . . I didn't know.
Could you give me something I can feel?
