What are the unique features of these ventilators? Servo i, Draeger Evita XL, Puritan Bennett 840.?

Each of these ventilators has 2 or more unique features that set them apart from the others. Does anyone know what they are?

The Evita and 840 can both be used on neonates, peds and adults. Both machines software can be updated meaning it never becomes obsolete. The touch screens on both are nice and both have an explanatory alarm function telling you when and why it has alarmed. You can also view waveforms and trends on both machines. Both can also be used with a mask for non-invasive ventilation, the Evita is portable to move with the patient ,also it has ATC, automatic tube compensation...The benefits of the Evita are numerous. Both machines offer numerous ventilation modes, SIMV, PRVC, CPAP, CPAP/PS, PC and NIV, etc..

I have not used the Servo i.

All the new ventilator are trending towards ease of use, portability and multiuse. They are also making it easier to gauge when a patient is ready for extubation and are taking into consideration patient comfort

puritan bennett 840 is quite portable compared to bear 7200 and bear 100 which is so bulky and very hard to drag from the department up to the ICU.
what's nice about puritan bennet is the touch -screen technique. very easy to assemble and set up. i got so spoiled with PB840 when i worked with Bear 7200 again -- i lost it.
haven't worked with Draeger Evita XL and servo I yet -- i guess it depends on the state where you work at. i've worked with servo 900c -- kinda old. and the VIASYS -- what's good about it is that you can use it on peds and neonates as well.

HA! and you thought nobody will be able to answer your question here. there are a couple of RRT's here, if you must know.

*** got your message, but cannot reply because it said it was unregistered or something like that.

After working with the PB 7200, Servo 300, and pretty much any bear i have laid a hand on, I would have to say that the Servo I is superior. I like the PB 7200 because of their ease of setup and use, they just really lack on the options. Servo 300 wasn't too bad. I have to admit though, that the Servo I is portable, easy to use, and quick to assemble. I have never worked with Draegers though. Has anyone worked with the new Inspirations? Just curious as to what everyone thought of these. Our dept. is about to get new vents and they were just one that we looked into.
