A ventilator is a machine used to help a person who is unable to breathe normally. This does sound like bad news but it is not necessarily a final step to saving a patient.
It could be that your aunt is having a temporary problem which may be resolved and she can breathe on her own again. I would suggest that you talk to the doctors or close family members for more details.
Have faith and pray. I am sending up a small prayer for your Aunt.
dheeraj rakho.

It could be many things it would be wrong of me to guess why I would suggest asking her next of kin ( her husband, children, brother or sister).

A ventilator is a life support machine to help someone who is unable to breath. It literally does the breathing for the patient. It is hard to tell if she will die or not. Only God knows, but some people miraculously regain their breathing spontaneously and go off the ventilator. You need to pray for a miracle for your aunt. I am praying for your aunt to survive.
