Common Nursing diagnoses for patient with ALS on ventilator?

NANDA NURSING DIAGNOSES not DOCTOR's DIAGNOSIS

Impaired resp. function
fluid volume deficit r/t decreased oral intake
impaired skin integrity r/t immobility
altered urinary elimination r/t als
constipation r/t immobility
impaired verbal communication

and yes nurses can make "nursing diagnoses"

Pretty much, any NANDA concerning the lungs is most important, but all can apply. I don't know any specifics about the patient (nor should you share), so I left out the relations and the evidence parts of the diagnosis.

Impaired spontaneous ventilation
Ineffective breathing pattern
Ineffective airway clearance
Impaired gas exchange
Risk for suffocation
Risk for aspiration
Anxiety
Risk for impaired skin integrity
Impaired swallowing
Altered oral mucous membrane
Bowel Incontinence
Total urinary incontinence
Impaired physical mobility
Impaired social interaction
Impaired verbal communication

Good luck.
