Venereal diseases are only spread through sexual contact with someone who is infected. Treatment depends on the disease, usually antibiotics (Zithromycian). Some VD's are incurable, such as herpes, HPV, hepatitis, and HIV. To prevent getting any of them, either abstain from sex, you and your partner get tested before ever having sex, or use condoms with spermicide.
