Is herpes contagious? How about syphilis? Is it true that syphilis can be contracted by walking barefoot? |
I've also heard that you can get venereal diseases by sitting on infected toilet seats. Is there any truth to this rumor? Ask your mom... We've been through this already. -Ain't that right Lou-Lou? no you cannot get it from a toilet seat or bare feet.they are both very contagious but you can cure syphilis you cannot cure herpes Herpes is very contagious. Syphilis is contagious as well. Both can be contracted even without intercourse, assuming that there is contact with the infected spots. Urine is sterile. Bacteria grows in it after it sits around for a little while. herpes is contagious during the active period when lesions are present. Syphllis has be transmitted through bare feet walking on the back of person with syphllitic rash and I have seen sores that were contracted from primary (lst stage) on all parts of the body that may have been open(abrasion, cut, etc;and merely touched or rubbed the sore. Very contageous and very treatable. There are some who need more extensive rx than normal, however, and can be very expdensive. Always suspect possible hiv infection with syphillis and other stds. |
