Leg veins. Has anyone done anything about it? |
Has anyone ever had spider and/or other veins in their legs taken care of? How was it? The dermatologist said they can take care of the spider veins but I would have to go to a vascular surgeon to look at the varicose veins. I have about 5 blue veins that are not popping out or painful, just not nice looking thru my pale skin. Wondering if it's worth the pain/money. The veins are the part of the vascular system that brings the blood back from the legs to the heart.they have valves so that the blood only ideally goes one way. Varicose veins occur when these valves are damaged so that the veins become dilated and in severe cases look like a bag of worms under the skin. The problem is that they can lead to ulceration of the legs. Exremely painful, My mum had varicose veins operated on, she was in pain afterwards for a couple of weeks but the result was good, but it doesnt stop other veins appearing and becoming painful. it could be 'worth' it if you are really self conscious, better to try any creams or pills (if available) first I feel your pain....literally! I had a friend who had her veins done and she said that it was painful at the time, but worth it in the long run...it all depends on how much you think it's worth to you. If you show off your legs a lot then I suppose it would be, as for me, I hide them lol! If I`d get all the spider veins I have removed from my legs, I be out of a house, Car. try tanning once a day or 3 times a week that usually gets rid of them and doesnt cost a whole lot of money and you only have to go a few times in order to see a difference and since you have pale skin that means you probly are just seeing through your skin which is a weird concept but i had kind of the same problem and tanning helped me support stockings or panty hose-- Extremely Painful, You could consult with a vascular specialist but, unless you have certain symptoms, surgery probably won't be option as it would be considered " cosmetic" surgery and insurance plans, as a rule, do not cover the cost. I still think you should consult with a vascular Doc to assess the veins and check the blood flow of the varicose veins.I hope that this helps. My mom had "vein stripping" for the larger vericosities.....we were not verty impressed. The difference wasn't enough. |
