Varicose veins? bad circulation?! Whats happened to my leg?

two weeks ago I hit the front of my leg. not badly, justa little. It didnt hurt much. right afterwards I noticed the vein running down the front of my shin bludge out. i rubbed it and eventually it went down but the whole area and the vein seemed bruised and went a bit yellowy. Two weeks on i am still getting aches. it's all on the inside of my ankle / shin are and occasionally down into the instep of my foot. the veins seems achey (i assume veins, it's something I cant pin point anyway!) and even the skin is very very sensitive to touch.

It seemed to get better after a week, and now it seems worse.
Sitting doesnt seem to help.

I'm going on holiday soon so might not get to see doc before then and if i do i wont get a follow up appointment for 2 or 3 weeks.....

anyone else experinced this?

PS. I'm 30.

I had the same kind of thing happen on my foot. He explained that it's basically a large blood vessel or vein that has broken. This usually just causes bruising, but if its deep and a lot of blood leaks out into the surrounding tissue, the tissue is "aggravated" in a sense by the blood. It's like getting salt in your eye. It should go away on it's own, but it may be tender for a few weeks. I'd try to see a doc if you are still having trouble after you get back from vacation. Good luck.
