Varicose Veins- support hose?

I have asked this in pregnancy but I am not getting many answers. I guess I am the only pregnant woman with varicose veins right now. Anyway... I have them and I just ordered some maternity compression stockings online until they arrive I purchased some control top support hose (for legs as well as the top part... which I really don't need) My question is, do you think they are helping at all? I ask because they are uncomfortable due to the fact that they are not actually maternity hose. I feel my legs and at first they feel really normal but as I am bending down to check it causes the veins to start bulging again. I don't know why but this really bothers me. I am worried my veins are going to explode. The problem area starts where my leg meets my body and goes down all the way to the front and back of my calf. I have never seen anything like this.... it is pretty scary. BTW I see my doctor on Thursday so I will discuss with him then. Thanks!!

Varicose veins can be painful, annoying, and really make you feel bad about your body image. Yes wearing the control top hose will help some until the maternity stockings arrive. Just make sure that they are not putting to much pressure on your growing pregnancy belly. I am a student nurse and I wear hose under my scrubs to help prevent varicose veins due to the long hours standing. After you deliver your baby and have allowed time for your body to heal you will be able to see a cosmetic surgeon that specialized in reducing the appearance of varicose veins. You should look it up on the internet the results can be really amazing.

The support hose are a totally different construction than regular hose and probably won't do much to help the varicose veins.
