My legs have variscoe veins and I'm 15?!?

I have variscoe veins, got from my grandma. How do I make it go away? Its now showing up on my right calf, goes up to the back of knee. The doctor said wait for few years then come back and see how the veins look. If not improved, he might have to use special shot that will reduce the veins. I'm 15, my calves are in great shape, my mom doesn't have the veins but I got from my grandma, could that be skipping the generation?

It is hereditary. Varicose veins are not that dangerous. They just look ugly especially on a woman. Your doctor could give you shots to reduce them or they have a surgical procedure called stripping.

are you overweight?

Sure, its hereditary. I have them too. Do what your doctor says and check with him/her later. Its no big deal, just be thankful you are healthy. There are a lot of other dreadful things that could be wrong with you and this is not one of them.

Try and elevate you legs and avoid standing still for hours.
Be happy!

i have a natural solution my grandmother taught me for variscoe viens and yes it does run in the family unfortunately.

lose weight, drink lots of water and everyday lay on your back and keep your feet up high in the air for 10 minutes. over a year you should notice a difference.

Keep moving and don't cross your legs when you sit down. maintain a healthy weight. don't wear tight clothing- socks, undies, girdle, jeans. They all restrict blood flow. Proper fitting shoes help also. Good luck. And when sitting try to elevate your legs higher than your hips.

Teenagers with varicose veins are rare, however. Most women first develop swollen veins when they're in their twenties or thirties, usually during pregnancy, when female hormone levels are at their highest. While the weight gain and increased blood volume necessary for fetal development put extra stress on the legs, elevated hormone levels are the principal factor in varicose veins, says Eugene Strandness, M.D., professor of surgery at the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle.

Family History of Varicose Veins

It's worth checking out your own mother's legs, varicose veins tend to be hereditary. So if your mother had varicose veins whilst pregnant all the more reason to wear compression hosiery to prevent vein problems yourself.
