What should I do with Vegetarian Diet and Weight Lifting? |
Well I want to become a vegetarian...btu I also weight lift and I really can't get the muscles without eating some meat...What the hell do I do? This site has info on both. A vegetarian bodybuilder convinced the governor of CA that you can get everything a bodybuilder needs without meat. Eat lots of beans and nuts! Try eating a hella protein. Hi, I can help you. I am a personal trainer and a bodybuilder with 25 years experience. Please contact me at dcprice1@shaw.ca Thanks. Beans and rice make a complete protein similar to animal protein when eaten together, though you'll need lots of it. Soy and whey proteins are very good, although whey is dairy (a by-product of cheese and yogurt production). You'll need to go to a GNC or similar store and look at product labels as most protein drinks use a combination of the two. If you're not completely off animal products, lots of egg whites are the way to go. Take vitamin supplements as well, the extra stress on your body will call for higher volumes of vitamins and minerals for repair. Nuts are high protein, but also high fat (better kind than animal fat) and calorie dense, though adding a little to your diet wouldn't be bad. |
