"loose muscle" diet/ vegetarian diet??


It's kind of in my genes to have a muscular build. I am only 5'1 though and don't really like the bulky look. I've started doing cardio... I need to loose some fat too.... but I don't want to bulk up, I want to thin and tone. If I lay off beef/ sausage and just eat fish/ some chicken, is this unhealthy and will it come back once i start to eat meat. Also, will this help to loose muscle??

I have never heard of anyone wanting to lose muscle.....it is usual the opposite, gain muscle and lose fat. As a regular gym bum, it has been my goal to gain the maximum amount of muscle and loose fat at the same time.

Since you want to lose muscle, you must concentrate on cardio, as you are doing, but I wouldn't sweat to much about how much protein you eat. Unless you are eating larger amounts, (150 -200 grams a day) it won't make alot of difference. Just stick to a low calorie diet and cardio. Compared to many carbohydrates, protein is actually a good diet choice for you because of the few calories it has, compared to carbs and fat.
