On a Vegetarian diet how can I reduce cholesterol?

You need to look at how you are preparing the foods and the additives...stir fries, lots of oils, butter and margarine. Don't forget salad dressings, flavor enhancers and condiments are loaded with oils.

Increasing fibre in the diet helps combat cholesterol as well other body function benefit. High fibre diet will also make you feel full at meals. Another important benefit is the fibre's involvment in breaking down fats(sugars) in our diet. There are so many benefits to fibre foods that I can't mention them here.

If the high cholesterol isn't from diet then you need to increase exercise. Don't forget if you are high stress person there must be relaxation time as well.

add oats.

Chew each morsel of ur food at least 32 times before taking another one. In other words slow down the speed of ur eating and take plenty of light exercises plus brisk walks. Take more of fresh fruits and vegetables.

You shouldn't have any problems with cholesterol intake. Cholesterol is produced by animals, not plants, so your only cholesterol sources are eggs and dairy, if you eat those.
You could have naturally high cholesterol synthesized by your body, and if that's the case, oats or Lipitor would be in order.

No cows milk or dairy also the fat that you cook with use the sunflower or olive oil. then you can look at fruits and see which ones have more fat in them you could eliminate them or cut these down. This will take some work to find out because it is a process of elimination rather than a complete elimination which doesn't make mush sense, that is why it is better to cut doen gradually.

Combine your foods correctly.

all these are high in carbohydrates and fats.
Sqush, banana, beans, cerals, grains, lentila, potatoes, pumpkin, split peas. Bread. Almond, coconut, cashew, peanut, olive, avocado,

cheeiros and oatmeal

Use olive oil more. Eat cereals like cherios, eat oatmel and oatmeal bread. Take an esssential fatty acid or fish oil supplement. Add more fiber. Exercise also helps to lower cholesterol.

If your cholesterol doesn't budge much after doing these things, get your thyroid tested with a morning only test of TSH, free t4, and free t3. This is one condition where cholesterol levels increase and going on thyroid meds decreases the cholesterol some. I went from a cholesterol level of 226 to a level of 181 with thyroid meds (armour). I have since lowered it to 167 by eating cherios, adding walnuts or almonds to cereal and salads, adding olive oil to tuna, taking 2 teaspoons of raw apple cider vinegar in water or ice tea. and taking a fiber supplement
