Are babies on a vegan diet healthier than ones that are not?

Despite what others have speculated, yes, Vegan babies and children can be very healthy. My son is almost 2 and has always eaten a vegan diet. He is on target for height and weight, and his pediatrician has said it's perfectly healthy as long as he eats a balanced diet (he loves beans, tofu, and other soy "meats")
As far as being healthier, his diet is definetly healthier then many children who mainly eat fast food, pizza, hotdogs, chips etc. Parents of both vegan and meat-eaters need to make sure that there kids are getting a nutritious diet.

I think the babe is the same as it will be drinking formula right= it is the Mom who is the vegan who is healthier

The parents of a baby fed a vegan diet were recently indicted for neglect that led to the death of their kid from malnourishment, so no, babies can't be vegans, it's not healthy.

Not really, i have a cousin who is a vegan and when she got pregnant for the first time the Dr. told her to start eating some red meat and checken breast, cuz even if you take proteins in pills, still they cannot replace the level of nutriments that you get when you eat normal food... so based on that and my career (i also study nutrition as one of my subjects as a dentist) i say NO..

If they're getting enough protein, vitamins, minerals, iron, etc. maybe.

Vegans need to eat a lot of supplements, mainly because:
1) proteins in vegetables aren't as complete as animals ones
2) calcium and iron in vegetable isn't as available for consumption as it is in animal foods

Babies need a lot of proteins (for growth), calcium (for bones) and iron (for the brain) and nutrients from supplements cannot be assimilated as well as the same substances can be absorbed when they are in foods.

Adults have already developed, so they need less of those nutrients, and therefore it's easier for them to keep a healthy level of nutrients coming even if vegetarian.

Essentially, vegetarians are healthier because vegetables hardly have any cholesterol, and are very low in saturated fats (which are the main causes of vascular problems).

However, being a vegan does NOT protect folks from cancers.
