Can A Vegan Go On The South Beach Diet?


im a vegan...and i was wondering if it was possible for a vegan to go on the south beach diet. if so, what should i eat? can you give me a link or something to some good recipies for a vegan version of the south beach diet?



also, im trying to lose weight...how long should i exercise for and how many times per week? and is there a certain time of the day that is better?

If you are vegan and over weight I would seriously evaluate your diet because something is wrong. Are you eating way too much sugar? (that was a big problem for me, I was eating vegan...vegan cookies, vegan carrot cake ect.). Maybe to many nuts, or high fat/calorie dressings? The main premise of the south beach diet is cutting out bad carbs (mostly sugar) and adding lots more fiber (which you should be eating plenty of fiber).

As far as working out I say morning all the way! There are less excuses and stresses then plus you get it over with!

If I were you I'd just steer clear of sugars and heavy sauces/dressings and add much more vegetables and whole furits (no juices). The weight should come right off! When I was vegan I actually had to conciously add oils so that I wasn't a stick figure in two monthes. I can't imagine that you would be overweight with your vegan diet.
