Vasectomy question!? |
My husband had a vasectomy on June 18th 2007. He did his 2 semen samples which the hospital tested and they were clear and we were told we didn't need to use anymore contraception, so we haven't. My question is, what are the chances of it reversing on its own (knitting back together)? The chances are infinitesimal, especially if the tubes were tied back, which is the normal way. Zero! it's possibly but very unlikely 0. If you get pregnant, he didn't do it. It is possible but, don't know the chances ask the doc that performed it. Two years ago, my friends husband had this surgery performed twice, and twice it corrected itself. Though this is a rarity, it may be a good practice to periodically get a sample tested from him. Shouldnt. If they tested him and it came back negative then your set. probably none There might be a slim chance that he has 3 tubes>But if they checked it an 0 sperm than have fun>If worried have it checked again> Better be safe than sorry> 1/3rd Having had this op myself, I was shown a length of the tube which had been removed and remember it as being about half an inch long. So it doesn't seem likely that it will ever knit back together on its own, as you phrase it. it has happened. there are a very few documented cases where a man has regenerated the tubes. the human body sees this as an injury and it wants to heal. a few seem to have to ability to repair it, but knowing this, doctors tend to make a more radical procedure and it is less likely that years ago. it is very rare. It is possible, and usually when a woman gets pregnant by a man that has had a vasectomy it is a multiple pregnancy more than 1 baby. I had a friend that this happened to. she had triplets. So it is possible, but it happens rarely. So there is always a possiblity. If he had a traditional vasectomy, the chances are pretty much Zero. Only about 1 in 2000 fail. i had a bilateral vasectomy (where they snip off about a 1/4 inch of each vasdeferen) done a few years back. the worst part of the whole ordeal was he smell after i was cauterized (all 4 ends of the cut vasdeferens were burned shut so that when they healed the 4 ends were "capped off" naturally by new flesh). Given the way this is done today its impossible to reverse without surgery and even then it may not work. Depending on the type of procedure used...very low to impossible! It wont the tubes are cut and folded back then stitched i no Ive had one and had to find this out No chance! can,t happen. they take away sections of the tubes so they are then too short to reach each other.... poor sorry very near zero |
