Vasectomy? Should he have pain when he ejaculates?

My husband had a vasectomy a few months back. He complains of a sore testical. Last night he had pains shooting through his med section while he was cumming. Is this normal? Should I leave him be until we see his doctor again? Of course he said he's fine. How long does it take to heal? Could he have a hernia?

in the first few months yes pain is normal but this will go away if it does not see a urologist

One thing I can tell you is there is NO way thats a hernia..I've had two before and have a third now..and No it should not hurt him. And yes I'd say wait till he sees the doctor..

Post-Vasectomy Pain Syndrome (PVPS), genital pain of varying intensity that may last for a lifetime, is estimated to appear in between 5% and 33% of vasectomized men, depending on the severity of pain that qualifies for the particular study[9] [10] [11] [12] In one study, vasectomy reversal was found to be 69% effective for reducing the symptoms of chronic post-vasectomy pain. Treatment options for 31% of patients whose pain did not respond to vasectomy reversal were limited. The study was very small, only evaluating 13 patients, making it difficult to draw solid conclusions. [13] In severe cases orchiectomy has been resorted to. [14]

He is still healing. I had mine 4 years ago and for the first 12 months I had some of the pains you describe. they do get better, so see you doctor and give it some time.

I had mine done 20 years ago, and this never happened. I belong to a Child-Free club where most of the men are vascetomised, and none have ever mentioned it.

In most cases PVPS is only psychological. But there are two other potential causes. The first is if he lifted anything during the first few days, then he could have caused the problem. In this case it will eventually go away. The second is called "adhesion". This is caused when scar tissue adheres between the cut end of the vas tube and a tendon. This is caused by sloppy surgery techniques. It eventually gets better.
