Has anyone had vasculitis? If so how were your symptoms treated?

I had it 4 years ago
Its now recurring

Yep, I have uticarial vasculitis and have had the diagnosis for about 3 years. But, the disease probably started in 2000 and a course of steriods caused it to subside. I take a unique cocktail of drugs to treat the symptoms of the hives and the vasculitis. It took about 2 years of trying different combinations of drugs to find which ones would work for me. And, that can change because sometimes for whatever reason one or some stop working or cause a bad reaction and the doctors have to change a drug. Right now I'm on Ranitidine, plaqinel, doxepin (as needed), benadryl (as needed), and darvocet (as needed). I also have a topical steriod that I can use on the hives when they get really itchy. I have a lot of information I can share with you about the condition if you e-mail me. It can be very painful, dibilitating and frustrating when you are looking like a bruised, road map. Good luck & God Bless!

Yes, it was associated with Rheumatoid Arthritis. It's considered a somewhat dangerous sign. After the RA got under control, the vasculitis went away (and has stayed away for 15 years).
