Weakened immune system - how do I protect myself from flu, etc?

Vasculitis, SLE, Antiphospholipd, Raynauds.....walking rheumatology nightmare!
Caught flu three weeks ago....can't shake it off. Regular rhuemy out on medical leave for another month. Local GP doing his best to get me through flu season.
Question.....other than "avoiding children with runny noses" (a direct quote from the rheumy filling in) what can I do to protect myself? GP's nurse suggested staying away from pharmacies and like places; necessary? Do I avoid people in general? I've been cooped up for over 2 weeks but can't shake this and don't want to end up in hospital again.
High dose prednisone, Plaquinil, Lovenox, etc on board....
Thanks!

The best protection is soap and water. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water 6 times a day. In between times, rub some of that waterless alcohol hand sanitizer on your hands whenever you touch things in a public area.

When he gets back, ask your Rheumatologist if either DMARDs or one of the new mouse monoclonal antibodies will help with your condition.

First tip doctors give everyone and is the proven best way to help avoid the flu is to wash your hands frequently. Many people don't realize how many viruses and harmful germs they pick up every day. Simply wash your hands frequently with warm water to help shake that annoying remnant cold.
Also, try taking a vitamin C supplement and eating lots of fruits. These will help you to provide the nutrients your body needs to fight off viruses which seem to never go away.
Also, some low exercise can help you to feel better. The more you just sit around and slouch, the more you encourage the virus to develop (over long periods of time). Just try about 20 minutes of cardio vascular exercise each day. It will at least help you feel healthier
Lastly, sleep! Make sure for at least four days in a row you get a GOOD 8 hours of sleep. If this seems impossible, try exercising before going to bed to tire yourself out.
While these are not complicated or even medically tested solutions, they always seem to work for me to get rid of that annoying cold or cough.
Good luck!

If it were me and I had all the problems you list I certainly would not count on washing hands to prevent catching the flu. Of course it is important but it may not afford all the protection you need.

First and foremost I would educate yourself on a new product called MMS. It will knock any flu out in a day or two if used correctly.

Second, I would use beta glucan daily. I will provide links to both. Beta glucan will naturally modulate the immune system and help to prevent infection in a big way.
