My 17 yr daughter has gained weight from bipolar meds. Any good diet or programs to help her?

My 17 year old gained 30 pounds while in the hospital where she was diagnosed bi-polar. She gained most of the weight between no activity and the new meds. We don't want to change the meds because they are working sooooo well, she is doing great! She has been walking on the treadmill everyday for 30 min and trying to eat less (thats is very hard for her). Is there a program that is healthy and works well with medication weight gain. Example like weight watchers. I just don't want her to not see any results with all the hard work is has been doing. She is on depokote, abilify. seraquil. lithium. cymbolta and concerta. YES it took every one of these meds to bring her back to us. She has bp1 ptsd and vasculitis (auto immune disease). If she has to stay heavy thats ok I just don't want her to keep gaining if possible. She is very much a part of her program to tey to stabalize her weight that is why I am asking for help.

Weight gain may just be the price she has to pay for the stability these pills bring.
But I'd suggest more exercise - 30 min a day is great, but adding in another type of workout two or three days a week can really help. Have her sign up for a sport, dance class, yoga class, etc - something that requires long-term commitment and gives her a social setting (since you work harder when you're a part of something big and can compete with others).
Eating less of the bad stuff is good, but skipping meals or eating unbalanced meals is unheathly and can sabotage her weight loss by putting her body in starvation mode. Help her focus more on replacing the junk food with good food - raisins instead of M&Ms, apples instead of candy bars, etc.

micheal thurmans 6 week body makeover....you eat 6 times a day and 70% of the diet is what you eat...any excersize is bonus...on week 5..i have lost 14 lbs and my 16 year old daughter has lost 18 lbs...she is so very happy and said the diet has been so easy to stick with becasue it is designed for her exact body type..check out their web site...
