Need answer about vascular disease? |
went to have ultra sound and pressures taken on legs tech said i have great circulation and then doc called after receiving the tests and has made me appt with a vascular dr said i have a vascular disease of the lower extremities???????why do i have good circulation but a vascular disease and anyone know what diseases they are talking about ?has me baffled ty The tech must have misspoken. The only reason for you to go to a vascular surgeon is either a strong suspicion or proof that you have peripheral vascular disease. means you are having problems with the blood flowing through your legs You should get another opinion unless your legs go numb from the pelvis down. and tire easily. Blockage is usually at the groin artery. Get it taken care of or lose your legs later. probably the tech said something they shouldn't have. It's maybe peripheal artery disease, have you seen the commercials on TV? If you're a smoker, or ex smoker, it's common, it's like hardening of the arteries of the legs, and not enough blood is getting to the tissue. They sometimes do surgery to correct it, femoral popliteal bypass. Hope your doc was just being overly cautious, maybe it's nothing that needs surgery. good luck Try this FAQ on peripheral arterial disease Vascular disease is a heart disease |
