What is vaso vagal syndrom?

vascular disease

Simply put it is a condition where the heart and blood vessels do not react as they should and blood pressure can suddenlfall drastically. This will cause the perosn to fall to the ground in a faint for no apparent reason. When the person comes round they will be very unsteady and it may take a few hours for them to feel normal again.
Attacks are precipitated by recognised triggers such as fear, severe pain and sight of blood. There is nausea, sweating, and pallor (pale skin).
It is also known as Gowers Syndrome.

The "vagas"nerve is a "cranial nerve"and the largest of these nerves in the body. It's part of the "autonomic" nervous system, meaning you cant consciously control the function. It governs and controls the cardiovascular & digestive system an respritory system.Vasovagal syndrome is when any stress, anxiety, physical or emotional, interupt normal system function, and a chain of events will happen as with a a fall in blood pressure and slowing of blood flow, causing one to faint.Cardiac arrymthmias, abnormal heart beats, that slows or speeds up the heart rate. With digestive and intestinal problems a person can faint when trying to use the bathroom,by straining (brearing down) trying to have a bowel movement etc. This response can be triggered by coughing, urinating and even swallowing food.Treatment would be finding the underlying cause, and prescribibing appropriate med's.Much info is on the Internet, its a complex and interesting syndrome. Take care. SW RNP

Frequently after a meal, the patient becomes shocky and may vomit and BP goes down. Lying down is usually adequate treatment.
