Vaginitis?

I've been experiencing sensitivity in my vagina, where it feels like its been rubbed raw or something like that. It hurts a bit to go to the bathroom, and it's kind of itchy. I did some research and I figure that I probably have some sort of vaginitis. I'm pretty sure it's not the sexually-transmitted kind, as my boyfriend and I always use a condom and we lost our virginities to each other, so I'm guessing it's either a yeast infection or a bacteria infection.

My symptoms sound alot like a yeast infection, except my discharge is yellow instead of white. Or at least, it dries yellow, so I guess it could first be white?

I wanted to know, when the doctor checks you for vaginitis, does he simply swipe your discharge, and that's it? The thing is, it would be really awkward if he found out that I'm not a virgin anymore, since my parents would then kill me :]

So should I go to my doctor or not? If it IS yeast infection, I can buy OTC med., but if it's not, I'd kinda have a problem.

You are probably right that this has nothing to do with having sex.

Discharge for vaginitis is often yellow. Sometimes is it a bit clumpy like cottage cheese, too.

You could be sensitive to condoms or something else you are using in that area (soap, laundry detergent, nylon panties, lubricants, you name it).

Hormone fluctuations can cause vaginitis. That's what I have problems with! Before, during or right after my period I will notice a burning when I pee right after sex. Then it just gets worse from there.

DId you take anti-biotics? Or have you in the past? That causes it for many, many women and girls.

Can you go to Planned Parenthood? If there is one near you, they can do the exam and not tell your folks.

Or you can try something OTC. Get the 1 day or 3 day cure (get the store brand), but then do NOT have sex for a week. It still takes a week to work, even though you aren't using anything during that time.

After a week or so, see how you feel. Maybe you will be lucky. If you decide to try a second round, use a different type of chemical/medicine. Read the box on the one you pick, and don't get that same active ingredient the next try. It is listed on the front of the box, like "10% Micozalcoq" or whatever that med is.

FYI...-PEOPLE CAN NOT TELL IF YOU ARE A VIRGIN FROM LOOKING IN YOUR VAGINA.

Most girls past like 8 or 10 do not have a hymen anymore! You run, you fall, and the thing breaks. No one is going to know from looking, so if your vaginitis persists you will need to have a swap done by a nurse or dr.. You might need anti-biotics. Some types of vaginitis need that or they will never ever go away!

The doctor will have to do a full pelvic exam and they will use a type of large "Q-Tip" to take a sample from your vaginal wall to see if you have an infection. It's nothing major and wont hurt you at all. But you should have it checked out.

Hi I dont want to bust your bubble, but it sounds like the std trichomonas look that up and see if it matches your symptoms.... sometimes we want our partners to be faithful and true but they disappoint us sometime.

You should go to your doctor to see what it is. If it is a bacteria infection, you'll need antibiotics. The doctor will probably ask you if you are sexually active, but I don't think they will tell your parents.

i most def thinks its yeast infection. A bacterial infection can get pretty nasty but it doesn't leave sores around the vagina area. I had yeast infection before and it was so bad that the yeast actually eats at your skin. Yuck i know! But you can go to the doctor and ask him for medication or you can go to the store \. Either on will work. BTW the doctor's can't tell your parents whether you are a virgin or not. It's a privacy law. Hope you feel better! good luck!

You should go to the doctor. It sounds more like a bacterial infection if you discharge is yellow. Trichomoniasis can also cause your discharge to be yellow also. It's a type of bacterial infection, only you can get it sexually. You should go to the doctor anyway, you don't want to wait until it gets too serious. Then, you may be allergic to the condoms you're using. Try a different brand or change what you're washing your vaginal space with.

a queef is a vaginal expulsion of gas.
