What isthe effect of vaginitis on pregnant women?

Depends... vaginitis is sort of a catch-all term for inflammation of the membranes of the vagina that can be caused by many things. Many women are more prone to it during pregnancy, simply because the wonky hormone levels that they have can vary their pH (making them prone to yeast infections or bacterial vaginosis).

The pregnant woman in question should go see her doctor to figure out what is causing her vaginitis. Mostly the same treatments will be done as when she is not pregnant, but on the off chance that something serious (like an STD) is causing her symptoms, she should get a diagnosis to protect her and her baby.

I would imagine it makes you smell down there just like non pregnant women?
