Has anyone had their Vagina widened by a doctor(vaginismus)?

Cos I will be getting mine done cos I have vaginismus and the only treatment for is to operate on me.My main question is did it hurt for long? how long? was it painful? Help!

It doesn't actually widen the vagina, it just prevents a muscle down there from clamping shut.

Some of the things that may cause primary vaginismus are:

* sexual abuse
* having been taught that sex is immoral or vulgar
* the fear of pain associated with penetration, particularly that of breaking the hymen upon the first attempt at sexual penetration

If you think any of these are the reason, I would suggest consulting a psychologist first. If you have a lot of hang ups about sex in general, watch a lot of porn movies and masturbate. Sounds weird but it worked for me. I was the biggest prude ever until I realized sex was a natural act, socially acceptable and very very common place.
