Is it okay to not be able to use tampons? |
I'm seventeen and I can't use even the smallest tampons. I just can't insert them, it's uncomfortable and painful. I asked about this on another website and the man who runs it said I might have vaginismus. Now I'm terrified that I'll never be able to have sex or anything because I have something wrong with me. Oh, don't worry about it. I was really scared of tampons as well...I could never insert them until after I had sex. You may be nervous and tense about inserting something in there, so don't worry! Ask your doctor if you are concerned- they'll tell you for sure. Maybe your hyman isn't broken yet so it's causing the discomfort. I'm sure you're fine. It took me about a year of trying before I could correctly use a tampon. Don't worry. Its totally normal, I asked my mom about it when I was your age and she said until she was having regular sexual activity she couldnt use tampons at all. I was the same way, so don't worry! Maybe the man was right, or you might just be inserting them wrong. maybe your doing it wrong, you have to point kinda down but up if u get what i mean not straight. Sounds to me that you are still a virgin. IT'S VERY NORMAL!! I waited to use tampons until after I had sex(I was 21 at the time) and I was fine. If you're still concerned talk to a doctor about it. Good luck. Some women just cant use them, you will be able to have sex. Having sex has nothing to do with wearing tampons My friend back in high school couldn't use them. Just use the pads. There is nothing wrong with you. Try using the plastic applicator, the cardboard can be really painful, you might be inserting them the wrong way. When i first started I had the same problem so i started using the plastic applicator. take your time and let your muscle relax when inserting. Hope that helps. I couldn't use the ones with plastic or cardboard applicators, they hurt me! But there is a brand, OB tampons that have no applicator, you just use your finger to push them in. It is kinda gross and you have to wash your hands well afterwards, but it's better than those pinching applicators! It's nothing to worry about, lots of women don't like or can't wear tampons, they can be uncomfortable to insert. |
