I keep getting recurring yeast and vaginal infections since I got married and became sexually active.?

what is these I have never suffered from vaginal infections is this normal I have had infections since July? Could it be he transmitted something to me? Please help Im so frustrated...

He may have a yeast infection & may be giving it back to you. He needs to be treated for one as well. It is MUCH harder in men to diagnose, but a doctor will be able to.

Well, yeast infections are not uncommon. And, believe it or not, your husband is able to get them too. If you two had sex while you had a yeast infection, you could have transferred it to him. Then it just goes back and forth. You need to get the treatments for the both of you (might need a prescription) and refrain from sex until the symptoms are gone. If you have a foul, strong odor that is a weird color like gray, green or yellowish, then you may have an STD or bacterial vaginosis (not an STD) could produce a foul smelling discharge. To be on the safe side, go to your gyno.

If you're not using condoms, try using them. Also, make sure you always pee after you have sex. Pee, THEN cuddle. It helps flush out any bacteria. Also pee beforehand, too. Try showering together and then having sex afterwards and see if that makes a difference.

I had this same problem when I first got married. Its just ur body tryin to get used to u have sex more often. Keep ur self really clean down there and dont douch but once a month. After a certain amount of time....mine went away and now Im normal. Ur body just isnt used to have sex this much.

Are you sure they are yeast infections? Were you diagnosed by a doctor? It certainly could be recurring yeast infections (in which case your husband is probably re-infecting you, like someone else said). For 10 years I thought I was getting recurring yeast infections caused by sex - I was diagnosed once when I didn't have any symptoms, and when I did have symptoms I couldn't get in to see the doctor soon enough, but when I told my doctors (several different ones over the 10 years) they all told me it was a yeast infection. Last year I finally found a doctor who thought it might be something else. She was right - this past summer I finally saw a doctor (actually went to the ER) when I had my symptoms, and it turned out to be a recurring urinary tract infection (UTI). Now I take a mild antibiotic every time I have sex, and I haven't had a UTI since!

A couple of thoughts...

If you are using condoms as a form of BC then you may be allergic to the spermicide on them or to the latex itself.

If you are using over the counter treatments for the infection then they might not be strong enough and you never really get rid of it all then it will just come back in a couple of weeks. (Really important to use all of the medicine as directed, if it says treat for 7 days then do it, even if it seems like it is gone!)

If you are having recurrent yeast infections one of the treatments is using Clotrimazole (Gyne-Lotrimin) Two 100-mg tablets administered intravaginally twice weekly for six months, also a monthly 150-mg dose of orally administered fluconazole (Diflucan) can help. If any other disease you should go to your doctor and evaluate for other possible diagnosis.
