Really embarassing question about vaginal infections.?

Ok. I'm only 15. I've never had sex, never masturbated, no kind of sexual activity, ever, I wash my vaginal area regularly, I wipe front to back. But I get yeast infections regularly and are always treatable with over the counter products. But this time I've noticed that it smells and and seems white but if I wipe with toilet paper it seems kind of greenish. I'm really worried this could be serious but I'm embarassed to go to the gynocologist with something like this even though I've been before. My mom knows about this but has yet to schedule an appointment. Is this really something serious, or completely common? What could have caused this? I also have a history of UTI's.

Thank you. I feel better now. I don't want to sound immature because I most certainly am not one of those girls who thinks she can get pregnant if she swallows sperm but I was getting really really worried that I wasn't normal or OK.

If you have a history of UTI's, you were probably prescribed antibiotics. Antibiotics can cause yeast infections.

You really need to schedule an appointment with your gynecologist because you probably need a prescription, since over the counter medications are not working.

Calm down. It sounds like vaginitis to the T. You don't have to be sexually active to get it. As a matter of fact is the MOST common infection women get. You are going to have to see your gyno though because they are going to have to prescribe you antibiotics.

well, if your mom has yet to set up an appt. maybe you should call. they can't give you adivce over the phone but set up an appt. yourself. that way it gets settled quickly.

The greenish can signal that you have an infection along with the yeast.

Do not freak out... yeast infections are NORMAL...

BUT... if you are getting them and they keep coming back constantly, talk to your doctor...

not all strains of yeast are cured by the common yeast infection product, only the most common.

I would book the appointment yourself and not wait on your mom. This is your vagina... your potential to have children... your health...

ALSO... I am not sure whether this will apply to you or not..
but ALWAYS wash any vibrators or "playtoys" you might have between each use because if you aren't, you're simply giving yourself back what you just tried to get rid of!!!

Hope this helps!

dont freak out dude its ok

You've been given some good advice. It does sound like you need to see your doctor. Not all vaginal infections are the same and you may need a different script for this. I had some pretty strange infections down there when I was about 18. Some girls are just more prone to stuff like this.

From one woman who gets a lot of UTIs and Vag infections to another, you may want to start looking into nutritional and supplemental support to avoid the problems to begin with.

I eat a lot of plain yogurt, take probiotics(Biobeads for example) and also Cranberry and D-mannose supplements. Go to the iherb vitamin website and look them up and you'll see how helpful these supplements are.
