Vaginal yeast infections?

does any one know what the best way is to cure vaginal yeast infections and what are those pills you can take by mouth i think their called acidophalus do those work and where can i get thoes

The best way is to ask your doctor for a Diflucan prescription (a one-type orally-taken pill). You can also get it through planned parenthood if you don't have health insurance, or get it from an online Mexican or Canadian pharmacy. Acidophalus supplements can be bought in any vitamin aisle at your grocery or drugstore. I doubt they'll cure it thought. There are many (somewhat messy) OTC applications (Monistat, etc.) and a few 'natural' methods which involve soaking a tampon in either yogurt or honey prior to insertion for at least 4 hours. Personally, I use Diflucan every time...

See a doctor and get prescribed medicine. Sorry.

The best way to cure it...is to go to a doctor and let him prescribe you some medicine!

You can get acidophilus tablets online or in health food stores. Miconazole is readily available at just about any store (Walmart, kmart, grocery stores, drug stores, etc.) and works fabulously.

Acidopholous is avail over the counter at drug stores like CVS and WalGreens... There is also a presciption pill but you would need to contact a doctor to get those...
Also there are many different formulas (also at the drugstore) like Vagisil and all that are creams to help with itching and help clear the infection.
Eating yogurt can also help- it has the natural acidopholous.
Did you recently take antibiotics? they can create yeast infections so for future reference- if you take antibiotics start eating yogurt or taking acidopholous pills.

Its always best to go see your doctor. There are over the counter medicines like Vagisil and Mono-stat you can buy, but you need to make sure its a yeast infection and not an regular UTI or chlamydia. The other medicine, is flagyl and requires a prescription.

I had severe yeast infections. I would have them 10 months out of the year. Doctor couldn't do anything about it. So I read up on it. This is what I did. Changed my diet and did a colon cleanse and I never get them now. I cut way back on sugar. Substituted with honey or stevia. The yeast thrives on sugar. Cut all yeast breads and stuck only with sourdough bread. Adding yeast to a yeast infection is not smart. The sourdough bread is a natrual yeast and it is a fermented bread so its easier to digest. And I also ate yogurt and took acidophilus (the refrigerated kind of acidophilus is the best). Yogurt has acidophilus in it. This will bring the good bacteria level up and help fight the yeast. You can get it the pill form at any health food store or pharmacy. Here in the south you can get it in the health food department at HEB, whole foods, sunharvest, central market, peoples pharmacy ect.. Its pretty common.

I had a severe yeast infection over 4 years ago. It lasted on and off - mostly on - for a year and a half. Took Diflucan and those messy over the counter creams. Nothing helped. Started a very low (almost no) sugar, low carb, no yeast diet and take the refrigerated acidophilus everyday, so I was surprised when I got a yeast infection this past week. I thought I did everything right. Had a very very very stressful day last week and went camping, so something 'down there' got out of whack, I guess. The colon cleanse thing, do you think that's was helped? Which type of yogurt do you think is best? Do you possibly think the stress brought it on? I was doing so good for 2 years without one!
