What is the relation of Antibacterial Soaps to Vaginal Yeast Infections?

I use antibacterial soap when I shower, and I'm wondering if it has anything to do with causing my yeast infections. After searching the web, I'm still unclear if it is a good thing, or bad thing.

The vaginal area does not need a strong antibacterial soap, try something milder like pure olive oil soap. antibacterial soaps are too strong for this delicate area, they remove the natural flora of the vagina and make it suseptible to germs. also, wear cotton or silk panties as they are natural fibers and allow the area to breathe, or no panties at all if you can get away with it. Do you have a sexual partner? If he's unfaithful he can carry a yeast infection from another woman to you...

It's possible that it could be causing the problem but the only way to know for sure is to check with your dr to see what they say.

Anti bacterial soaps are too harsh for virginal cleansing.
See a doctor who can recommend proper virginal soaps for you, which do not mess with the needed bacterias of your Virgina.

The antibacterial soap kills the normal commensals or non pathogenic organisms, the yeast gets opportunity to grow. Hence simple soap should be used for cleaning. That is the way how antibiotic therapy causes thrush.

I use an antibacterial soap all the time, and have no effects from using it. you may have another problem
