What are some ways to prevent vaginal infections?

cotton underwear, no hottubes, etc.

LET IT BREATH NEEDS AIR ---DRINK CRANBERRY JUICE---DONT TAKE A BATHE NASTY WATER AND WHEN U C COTTAGE CHEEZY STUFF DO CALL THE DR THERE IS A TABLET U TAKE IN 1 DAY IT WILL B GONE

Be careful when taking antibiotics as this lessens your resistance to yeast infections. Try NOT to drink out of public fountains. Wash with an anti-bacterial soap there.

Good luck, all I know from having 6 sisters, lol.

Don't sit around in a wet bathing suit.

keeping an cranberry rich diet
cotton underwear
no fragrances down there, like bubble bath
no douches. douces kill needed bacteria in the vagina that helps naturally clean it...

all of the above AND MOST IMPORTANT.....make sure that after you have intercourse that you "PEE".....VIP....not urinating after intercourse can cause yeast infection too!

Cotton undies, no deoderant anything down there, use a mild soap (I'm very susceptible to yeast infections, so I use Summer's Eve Feminine Wash...anything else, even ivory soap, will give me one), don't sit around in wet or damn clothing (change after you've worked out too), don't douche. things like baths and hottubes are actually a myth. The water won't flow into your vagina unless you actively push it in there. But just sitting in one will not affect you. And drink plenty of water a day to keep your kidneys and whatnot flushed out. Oh, and eating a container of yogurt every day will help build up the natural "good" bacteria down there.

Cotton undies, no bubble baths, get out of wet clothes asap, don't use fragrances downstairs - those are just general good hygene tips to help prevent all kinds of girlie infections. Pure lavender essential oil can help to releive itching & get rid of infections.

Urinary tract infections - cranberry juice! But make sure it's the pure stuff not the the from concentrate that's usually on a grocery store shelf. Most natural or organic stores carry pure cranberry juice. I've found cranberry in a pill form before and it was rather helpful.

Yeast infections - acidophilus, acidophilus, acidophilus!!! That's the active culture in yogurt & cottage cheese that helps fight off a yeast infection. Other than the natural stuff, there's always Monistat (best if you're REALLY itchy b/c it comes with an external cream) or Diflucan (the pill that works internally).
