Signs of a vaginal infection? I think I may have one?

I think i may have a vaginal infection - but I want to make sure, Im 14. And I don't want to tell my mom because she will get mad at me or ask to see. So any help? And if I do have a vaginal infection if i leave it alone will it go away? Or can I cure it myself?
Please Help I'm panicking a little.

Please&Thank You

A yeast infection causes itching, sometimes an odor, and a discharge. It doesn't go away by itself, but you can buy over the counter stuff at Walmart (Monistat). If you haven't had one before it helps to get diagnosed by a doctor to make sure, but you could just use the Monistat.

Yeast infections can be caused by wiping #2 from back to front, or wearing nylon underpants or pantyhose. It doesn't have to come from anything sexual. There is no reason for your mom to get mad. If you do have yeast then it is best to wear 100% cotton panties.

If it isn't yeast it could be a bacterial infection. You will have to go to the doctor for that to get medicine. It will of course involve an internal exam which sucks at 14, but it is something you will have to do many times in your life as a woman.

The Monistat can cost up to $17. The types that you do for 7 days don't work any better than the 3 or 1 day treatments. If you take this route make sure you follow the instructions exactly.

Itching, and it could be a yeast infection, and yes you should tell your mom, its common to all women.
