Women only: should I use the word "vagina" or "vaginal" in my report title? |
Part of my report is on issues of the female organ (for example sexual diseases, sensitivity, size, questions, etc.). Should I title this section "Vagina Issues" or "Vaginal Issues"? My audience is female. Initially, I thought "Vaginal" sounded better; however, I actually think you really should go with "Vagina" in this instance. A common medical phrase is "vaginal discharges" and the word "issues" can also mean a discharge. (Eg. the woman healed from an "issue of blood" in the Bible, who was suffering from excessive menstruation.) Did you intend for this double-entendre in your title? If you decide to go with "vaginal issues" it will sound like your report is focused on discharges only. I would say Vaginal Issues. It sounds like it would make more sense I guess. Either one, but I think Vaginal Issues sounds better. Vaginal Issues...sounds more professional ...LOL Vaginal Issues vagina Well personally I work in the field, and have just recently received my degree in Human Sexuality (lots of reports) - and "Vaginal" is more scientific and professional. vaginal I would say vaginal issuses it sounds more I don't know important vaginal Vaginal. The word "vagina" is quite strong and already, having a form of such a word in the title is strong. At least with vaginal they know what you're talking about. Vagina issues sounds like a comedy sketch or something, and does not sound as professional and scientific as vaginal issues. For example, it's "vaginal discharges" and not "vagina discharges." Same rule should apply here. |
