How long does the vaginal opening remain swollen after you have sex for the first time?

I had sex for the first time about a week ago, and now my vaginal opening is really swollen. We did it about 3 days consecutively before I realized that the swelling was not just a one day thing. He is larger than usual, and didn't necessarily take it slow.. He cares for me and blah blah blah, but we were both excited. Anyway, is this swelling normal and how long will it take before I'm back to normal down there so that i can continue... comfortably? (and please don't automatically say that I have a disease or something.. i want first hand experience here..)

we didn't use a condom because i'm on birth control and he has no diseases so that is not a problem. i've also had a slight discharge.. slightly pink.. perhaps from the breaking of my hymen?

The swelling should be going down by now.

I have a few questions:
Does it hurt?
Did you use a condom? If so, you may have a latex allergy. I have one, and that is how I found out. I had sex with my husband (he wore a condom) and I swelled up.
Were you properly lubricated? If not, the friction could cause you to swell up.
If your hymen was broken, it would be sore and slightly swollen for a few days. You might have some discharge from that still, too. Just keep an eye on it.

Ibuprofen can bring the swelling down and ease the discomfort. Make sure you are properly lubricated if you want to try it again before the swelling goes down completely. If it doesn't get better soon, you should see a doctor... just to be safe.

As with anything you use for the first time, the swelling will go down with inactivity. It needs to rest and recover. However, if you are still really gung-ho, it will go down eventually. You can put some soothing compresses on it when you're not actively engaged in sex, and that should reduce the swelling. Most likely the outside is just irrtated from all the new activity. don't worry about the swelling.... in varries from person to person so i guess ur just gonna have to wait and see....

the vaginal area swells or fills with blood during intercourse. the swelling goes down just hours after, when the blood flow decreases.

it is just like going to the gym and start lifting heavy weights
ur muscles will get sore .so give it some rest and next time tell him to be more gentle
