Vaginal Strep?

I just found out I have vaginal strep. I never even knew that existed but well I have it. Im not really sure how I got it...and no it is not a sexually transmitted disease. I read that it can be hard to get rid of? I am on Ampicillin 250mg 4 times a day. Do you think this will kick it out? Any information you have on this would be helpful. Thanks.

We normally carry a little bit of strep inside of us but in amounts that normally don't create a problem. Sometimes though things can cause just the right thing to cause the Strep B to get out of control and create a problem. Normally with Strep B it is not treated unless a woman is pregnant and about to go in to labor because of the problems it can cause for a baby.

But there are some, myself included that have to have it treated because it can create problems like being in a lot of pain. The Ampicillin should help knock this out.

When Strep B becomes a problem the woman then is known as a Strep B carrier.

I would recommend checking with your doctor as well to see what they say.
