My girlfriend mentioned a vaginal condition she had from a previous relationship...? |
she acted like it was not a disease, she said what it was but I have forgotten. I am trying to find out more about it. All I remember is that she said that her GYN said the effects usually comepletly clear within about 5 years. She said the effects dissapated for a while and she was excited but then they came back even after the GYN said it looked to be gone from her system. She also said she somewhat blamed it on her past partner. Any help on what her condition could have been. It wasn't the commonly mentioned Herpes, Chlamydia, Syphilis, Gonorrhea, HPV. HPV (human papilloma virus) is the only thing that I can think of. This disease can have no symptoms, take years for the tests to be positive, and it can go away (or at least not show a positive test result) after awhile. It is also one of the leading causes of cervical caner. It is usually detected with an abnormal pap smear. I hope that you haven't had unprotected sex with her. In these days, you can't be too careful. She needs to find out exactly what she has/had & have it treated. I have never heard of having a 'vaginal condition' that just goes away after 5 years or so. Is she on medication? You could end up with a very serious or even life threatening illness. she needs to go to the clinic HPV is the only condition I know that can clear within 5 years without any medication. It is a disease in the form of a virus and is contracted sexually. There is no test for men and the only way for them to know they have it is if they have the strain which causes warts or when they pass it along to their partners. Women usually find out they have it when the results of their pap smear comes back abnormal. |
