After a hysterectomy do you still have to have a pap? |
My OB/GYN said no because they took my cervex, but my family physician said I should. I know that I should have the test done for ovarian cancer. Can you still get like vaginal cancer? I still have my ovaries! I asked the same question because I just had one. They said yes because you can still get vaginal cancer and ovarian cancer. If you had a complete hysterectomy, then no. They remove your ovaries and uterus. These are the only types of cancer I've ever heard of relating to the vaginal area. Personal experience. i would just to be safe but yes, consult multiple physicians The pap test check cells on your cervex, sense you have no cervex this test isn't needed. You may still need to see your OB/GYN for other reasons. But I'm no doctor. Doctors say once every 4 years. and yes you can still get cancer there. you should have one every year regardless anything!!! :) |
