Used yasmin-pill, now constant heavy vaginal bleeding after period, what's wrong?

My girlfriend used yasmin pills (for 1 month) and her period didn't stop and she is still loosing blood 1 week after her period should have stopped, she already used medicins prescribed by the doctor to stop the bleeding but they didn't work! Any people with experience or medical studies who knows what could be wrong. I am afraid it is cervical cancer and her womb needs to be removed.

I'm pretty sure she isn't pregnant.
Her period is taking up almost 3 weeks now.
I still want children later on in our relationship.
I'm worried it is the cause of the pill, and I doubt it will stop the bleeding if heavy medicins didn't.

Wow...you have a lot of concerns, many of which are totally over the top. (I totally get that you're concerned about your friend, though.) OK, first: any pill can work great for one female and not so great for another. I was on Yasmin and it made me super depressed. I've known other women who love it. For your friend, it sounds like Yasmin obviously wasn't the right drug...and also wasn't enough hormone to keep her uterine lining intact. The doctor probably prescribed extra estrogen for her to try to make the bleeding stop.

Now, as for the cervical cancer thing. Unless her doctor works out of the back of a van, he/she is doing paps on your friend in order to keep her on the pill and if she's sexually active. If she has cervical cancer, it would show up in the pap. And if she has cervical cancer...say it just started...she wouldn't need to have her womb removed. I promise.

Your friend needs to work with her doctor. And perhaps ask to be tested for STDs. That can cause discomfort and bleeding, too. She'll be OK...bleeding is pretty common with birth control methods.

possibly could be tumours fibroids which will cause alot of bleeding.
non -cancerous but if creats a problem than they have to remove. Report It

wow, you've gone from point a to point c in a matter of moments.

her periods sound merely screwed up or she could be having a miscarriage. if it was cervical cancer i would hope they would notice it when she had a vaginal exam and pap done.

she needs to get on another pill or maybe you should get a vascectomy so she doesn't have to worry about being on birth control.

i had this same thing happen on depo provera (the shot) but when it wore off (3 months) all was well again.
