Vaccination for infants...?

Is anyone anti-vaccination??? any mothers who have had their child severely harmed by a vaccination or other shot??? what are your opinions on the matter?? I don't believe in vaccinating, i am a massage therapist and have studied w/ an acupuncturist/chiropractor for about a year and he taught me a lot on the dangers and the lies docs feed you...i am expecting a child in january and they will not be vaccinating my child for anything...

i am WELL versed on the dangers and so called positives on vaccinations and i have done exstensive studying on the subject, it's really sad to see and hear all the brain washing that has occured and the fact that people don't understand that it's all about money for the doctors and pharmaceutical companies!!

I know how you feel, I am somewhat against it too. I think that we over-vaccinate our children. I did A LOT of research on the subject, and decided to go ahead and get my child vaccinated. I just keep and eye out for any changes she might be having, or reactions. I also learned that you can request for your child to have a "tinsel test" to see what their immunity is to certain things. I am going to have one done on her before she gets her second round of shots. If the test indicates that her immunity is good enough, I am not going to give her anymore shots. I have heard of terrible things happening to kids from these shots, you really have to manage your own healthcare these days and never trust docs to do it for you. From my research, I concluded that the damaging substance in the vaccines was thimerosal, from mercury. They supposedly do not use that preservative anymore in vaccines except for the flu shot. I have never had one, nor will my children! Good Luck, there are a lot of people who will scrutinize you for this choice, but you have to make your own decision! I applaud anyone who has enough of a brain to think things through and not act like sheep by automatically doing what they are told.

All of you who are 'for' the vaccination and will 'watch' you child for problems- what are you going to do if you notice something and it's not reversible due to the fact that the damage is already done? Report It

You know your child won't be able to go to school w/o vaccinations. Also, there are risks with anything, but the vac. prevents very serious illnesses. Please reconsider.

You need to vaccinate your child. Your child could be in harm if you don't. There is a rare percentage of children that are harmed from vaccinations. I think you need to do some more studing about vaccines.

I was very worried as well and did alot of research. However, for the true safety of my child I had her vaccinated. Its not the vaccine itself its the what its "packaged" in such as mercury was a common preserver (this is what they think was linked to autism) You have a better chance of your child contracting one of the deadly diseases and then they die then having any real problems!!! Do more research and see how many un-vaccinated children have truly died from such diseases like the petussiss or I knew of a guy who wasnt and got the mumps as a kid and now is infertile. Research and go with your true heart!!

Good Luck

I think it is absolutely ridiculous not to vaccinate. There are too many diseases a child can get, and the chances of harming through vaccination are much less than leaving your child open to getting diseases that the vaccinations prevent. Talk to your doctor. You will probably feel different when you look into your baby's eyes. Mine is almost two, and she is fine...

I have four children and none of them have ever been vaccinated. (The eldest is now 22 years old). There are much better ways to ensure the health of your child. Up to the age of 7 childrens' immune systems are still developing and so they are more vulnerable to illness. Do what I did and see a good homeopath who will give you the right remedies for minor ailments and soemthing called "nosodes" which give protection for common childhood illnesses. The homeopath will also direct you to literature which explains better than I can just why vaccination is so harmful.

Good for you....i'm sure you must be excited at the prospect of seeing your child through mumps, measles, rubella, epiglottitis, TB, whooping cough, Hepatitis and a wide variety of illnesses that the stupid and inconsiderate WHO are trying to elimate from the world.

For the rest of you out there, please be aware that the benefits of vaccines far far outwiegh any possible risks and side-effects are minimal. There was once a small outbreak of encephalitis that was thought to be due to the whooping cough vaccines and a deaths had occured. Consequently it was found out to be due to the preserving agent and this was changed to a safer one. However not before an epidemic of whooping cough and many deaths occured due to parents being afriad of vaccinating their children.

Sorry, but you will endanger your child if you don't vaccinate him/her. Your child will be more susceptible to the childhood diseases that are preventable.

The risks of problems when vaccinating are smaller than not vaccinating. I don't understand why you believe this person who doesn't have a medical degree and never attended medical school. Poking a needle into someone will not kill a virus, nor will it protect you from one. Same for aligning your spine.

Everyone has an agenda. Why is this acupuncturist / chiropractor saying these things? It is good to question authority, but you shouldn't latch on to the opposing viewpoint without asking them critical questions too. What proof can they show you? Is it quantifiable or anecdotal? Could their "proof" be attributed to some other source? Could they be misreading / misquoting the data? Question authority. Even the ones that think like you do.

Why do you not believe the medical community when the rest of us do? Read your history. Thousands of people used to DIE or become INVALIDS because of measles, mumps, rubella and other childhood diseases. Through vaccination, we've managed to dramatically reduce the occurrences.

You should reconsider. Good luck.

I know you aren't going to pick this as a best answer, because you're not going to like what I have to say, but here it is.

I am for vaccination. I have a 14 month-old and she gets all of them. And I am otherwise a very crunchy momma. I breastfeed, I co-sleep. But I feel very strongly that NOT vaccinating your children is irresponsible and selfish.

Most of the issues that have come from vaccination have come from vaccines that contain Thermerosol, a preservative that contains mercury. Very few doctors will still have that in their inventory, since manufacturers quit putting Thermerosol in vaccines a few years ago. Flu shots may still have it, so ask before your child gets one. It's not proven that Thermerosol will harm a baby, all of us here probably got some with each shot as children. There was a suspicion that it could be causing harm to a very small number of kids, so it was taken off the market.

You should still consider the flu shot even if it contains Thermerosol. Babies die from the flu too, more often than you think.

Ever see a child suffer from Polio? No, you haven't, because almost everyone vaccinates their children so no one gets it. My grandfather got it, just as the vaccine was coming out. It ruined his life, he couldn't work, lost the use of his legs. And that's usually the BETTER outcome of getting Polio, lots of people died from it. How does that compare to the risks of getting your child vaccinated? You're not vaccinating only for your child, you are doing it for all the other children too. It's a group effort - if everyone got their child vaccinated, everywhere, eventually no one would have to get the vaccine anymore. The diseases would disappear.

And I HATE getting my child vaccinated. Poor child ... the nurse did a bad job giving her 4 month shots and made it hurt worse than it should have. Then after I got her home she got a fever and it scared me to death. It's never easy ... I always feel guilty taking her in for shots. You just have to be strong and know you're doing the right thing.

Now and then you hear about very small outbreaks of these diseases in communities. These women refuse to have their babies vaccinated, then let them play with a large group of other babies who haven't been vaccinated either. Not very smart

We are a whole generation of mothers who haven't seen the horrible damage these diseases can do, so we don't think of how bad it can be. But you have to. Do some reasearch on these vaccines and find out what each one is protecting your child from. It will give you something to think about.

I just read your "additional details" comment. Obviously you need to do some more reading. I don't need a doctor to "brainwash" me into thinking those diseases are dangerous, I can open a history book. Just think of all the millions of children who got their vaccinations so you can get away with not giving your children theirs. MAYBE get away with it. Don't be selfish, protect our childrens' future, vaccinate your child.
