Vaccination scar? |
I have a nasty vaccination scar on my left arm. In fact I was aked about it today. Does anyone else have this scar and have you ever had this scar pointed out or have you ever noticed this scar on anyone else? Isn't that from a small pox vaccination? I don't have it, but I see it all the time on people from other countries and those who are from a different generation, usually older... i have a scar from my tb vaccination on my left arm The only vaccination scar I have is from my smallpox shot, and even that isn't noticable...it actually looks more like a goosebump If it's like, a bunch of bumps then yeah. It's not abnormal. My mom and grandma and a few others have this scar. It doesn't ever go away, hate to break it to ya. But there's nothing wrong with it either. Everyone has the same scar....usually on their left arm, towards the back...about the size and shape of a dime. (small pox) which is why no one in the U.S. has small pox...(of course I'm different, my scar is on my right arm and everyone points that out to ME and I'm 52) It was actually done when you were a small child (about 2), with one needle scratching your arm multiple times in a circle...don't worry about it...it's not an alien button...you're safe... The only vaccine that normally causes scarring is the smallpox vaccine. Routine vaccination in the US was stopped in the 70's as the disease was considered erradicated. However, with the recent rise in potential bioterrorism, many troops and health care workers have begun to get vaccinated once again. The problem with scarring remains. no Yes, I have the scar too. Mines a little bigger than a quarter. I got it in Germany and they used a jet-gun type thing. It made a perfect circle on my arm. I get asked about it nearly everyday. It's just a part of my life. Interestingly enough, guys seem to think it looks kinda neat. |
