Does vaccination against chicken pox works?

i'm 18 yrs old and i have naver had chicken pox.I had chicken pox vaccination last year.recently my sister had chicken pox.now i have a few blisters on my face and neck and it's really itchy.i also have fever.could i possibly be having chicken pox? Does this mean the vaccine was not effective?

Vaccinations are poison being willfully injected into your body. While you may not get chicken pox when you are young, you have to get a booster because the artificial immunity from a vaccine doesn't last for a lifetime like natural immunity from getting the disease. Chicken pox in children is mostly an annoyance. If you wait to get it until adulthood, you can have very serious problems that may even lead to death.

yes it definately gives you a greater chance of NOT getting the disease. If you do end up getting a case of the chickenpox after getting the shot it is usually a very mild case.. only a few small pox.

umm well i had the shot when i was about 2 and i never had the chicken pox (i am 13 right now)...the vaccine def. helps prevent getting the chicken pox but sometimes it wont full work.... if the blisters spread then yes you probably have them... but you should call your doctor or schedule an appointment with him/her just to be sure

Hi,

You might (indeed) have chicken pox. This doesn't mean the vaccine didn't work! Adults who were never immunized (naturally by having pox as a child, or via vaccine) who get chicken pox can become very very ill, have hundreds and hundreds of blisters, bad pneumonia and even brain infection (encephalitis) with the virus.
With you having only a few spots, this is probably indicative that the vaccine has resulted in you having a milder case of the infection.
You should see your doctor, he can get a fluid sample from one of the blisters, and send it for culture to confirm what is causing this.

You are having a mild outbreak... No big deal... The risks of the vaccine are an mild outbreak of pox or shingles... I would much rather have the pox...
