Question about BCG vaccination........? |
I got vaccinated with BCG about 15 years ago, and i was told by my doctor not to get the PPD skin test ( because i will get a positive skin test because of the vaccination) As a result i end up having to do a chest x-ray almost every year, because of my profession. Recently there has been a new TB bacteria that has evolved and is resistant to the old vaccines. SO even if you were vaccinated when in diapers you can still catch the bug while in your capris. These critters have a higher IQ. Hence the med school grads in a quandry and to avoid liability go through the x-ray routine to keep the insurance companies happy. So medicine, finance and evolution can combine to come up with lifes little inconveniences. Cheers. according to this, the BCG vaccine may not always protect you from TB. |
